Baseball Divisions

Carroll Manor Baseball Divisions:

NOTE: The age cutoff for all levels is April 30. Any child exceeding the maximum age in a division by April 30 must play at the next level. For example, a child turning 7 on or before April 30 must play at the Machine Pitch level.

Tee-ball (Ages 5–6)

This is an instructional level to teach players the fundamentals of baseball and is an excellent opportunity for them to learn basic skills (hitting, catching, and throwing) as well as teamwork, group discipline, and sportsmanship. The teams play other teams within the WFC League. Score is not kept at this level. Tee-ball teams are distributed evenly by age, with a similar number of 5 and 6 year old on each team. Team size is between 7-10 players.

Machine Pitch (Ages 7-8)

Instruction continues at this level; development of the player’s skill is the primary goal. During games, batters will hit balls fed into a pitching machine by one of the team’s coaches. The teams play other teams within the WFC League. Though winning is de-emphasized, score is kept at this level.

Minors (Ages 9-10)

In general, this division is geared towards the continued instruction of the fundamentals of baseball. This division is “kid pitch”, with the volume and frequency of pitching strictly monitored in order to ensure the health and well-being of young players. Score and team standings are kept, and a tournament is held at season’s end to determine a league champion. The teams play other teams within the WFC League.

Majors (Ages 10-12)

This division is structured the same as the Minors division, with the key distinction that it builds upon the skills acquired at the Minors level.
